Recipe Turkey Cheese Burgers

Turkey and Caramelized Onion burgers

We bought unseasoned turkey burgers and liberally seasoned it with our Jim’s Own Smokey Rub. The sweet smokey flavors compliment the turkey and add a subtle zippy spicy finish. Just before we took the burgers off the grill, we painted them with Jim’s Own Smokey. We added sweet onions that were caramelized in the pan with a little Jim’s Own Smokey and topped it with Muenster cheese, arugula, sliced pears and pickled ginger. Serve it with sweet potato fries seasoned with the Jim’s Own Mild or Smokey Rub. YUM!

For 4 servings

4 unseasoned turkey burger patties
2 Tbsp. Jim’s Own Rub Smokey or Mild
1 tsp. vegetable oil (if cooking in pan)

2 Tbsp.  Jim’s Own Sauce Smokey
4 sliced Muenster cheese (or other cheese of your choice)
4 slices firm sweet pear
12 slices pickled ginger

Spice turkey burgers generously with the Jim’s Own Rub Smokey or Mild and allow marinating for 30 minutes to 2 hours.

Add vegetable oil to pan and cook the onions low and slow until softened.

Add the Jim’s Own Sauce Smokey and cook until onions are slightly caramelized.
