Recipe Chili
Savory Chili with Vegetables
Ingredients:
2 pounds lean ground beef or turkey
1 (15 ounce) can crushed tomatoes or tomato sauce
1 can kidney beans, undrained
1 can cannellini beans or white kidney beans
1 can pinto beans, undrained
1 cup Jim’s Own Sauce Mild or Hot
2 packets Mild Chili Seasoning Mix
1 onion, chopped
1 package frozen mixed vegetables
Cooked rice, as accompaniment*
Directions:
Brown meat or turkey in a pot on med-high heat with chopped onion until thoroughly cooked through.
Drain fat.
Add in all remaining ingredients (except rice).
Bring to a low boil, stirring frequently. If chili thickens too quickly, add a bit of water.
Cover and reduce heat to a simmer for 30 minutes.
Continue to stir frequently.
Serve chili over cooked rice
*Chili can also be served over cooked hot dogs or sausage!
