Recipes Grits Casserole

Jim’s Own Grits Casserole

Servings: 6-8
4 cups cooked grits
1 12oz pack bacon (optional)
1 onion diced
1 tsp crushed garlic
1 can chopped tomatoes
¾ cup Jim’s Own Mild sauce
1 cup grated cheese
½ cup cream

Prepare the grits as directed on packaging.

If you are using the bacon option, cut the bacon into smaller diced pieces and cook in a saucepan until browned but not crispy. Remove bacon from pan, drain excess oil, and brown onion and garlic until soft and translucent.

Add bacon to onion in the pan and add Jim’s Own Mild and chopped tomato and cook for 5 minutes.

Spoon 1/3 of the prepared grits in a lightly oiled oven proof dish. Spoon 1/3 of sauce over the grits and sprinkle some cheese over the sauce. Repeat layers 2 more times finishing with the cheese.

Pour over the cream and bake in oven at 350F or until the cheese has melted and starts to brown.
