Shepherd’s Pie with Sausage Seasoning

This is a great recipe to use up those leftover mashed potatoes. You can also sub out the ground Lamb for any other kind of meat, even shredded leftover meat such as turkey or roast beef.

INGREDIENTS:
5 Cups Mashed Potatoes
1 TB Vegetable Oil
1 1/2 Lb. Ground Lamb
5-6 tsp Jim’s Own Mild Southern Sausage Seasoning
1/2 Cup Diced Onion
1/4 Cup Diced Carrots
1/4 Cup Frozen Peas
1/4 Cup Frozen Corn
2 TB Flour
1 Cup Beef Broth
1 TB Jim’s Own Sticky-Q or substitute with ketchup

DIRECTIONS:
Preheat Oven to 350 Degrees. Grease a 9 x 13 Casserole Dish.

Heat oil in a large skillet. Cook onions and carrots until softened, about 8-10 minutes, stirring often.

Mix lamb and Sausage Seasoning well and add to skillet. Cook until well browned.

Stir in flour and cook 1 minute. Add peas and corn and cook 2- 3 minutes.

Add broth and Sauce. Bring to a boil over med-high heat. Reduce heat and simmer for about 5 minutes to allow sauce to thicken.

Spread meat mixture in the casserole dish.

Top with mashed potatoes, spreading to cover entire surface.

Bake for 30 minutes. Enjoy!
