Recipes Kentucky Hot Brown
Kentucky Hot Brown Bake
The famous Kentucky Hot Brown is an open-faced turkey sandwich completely drowning in cheesy sauce. This is not a recipe for the sandwich, but a layered variation of it. It’s also kind of like a baked club sandwich casserole and an absolutely delicious breakfast or brunch dish that was gone in minutes after we served it. We used sliced turkey, but you could use sliced beef, chicken or ham as well. You can also prepare it ahead of time and just stick it in the oven to bake about an hour before you want to serve it.
Yield: 9 servings
Ingredients
8 oz. package refrigerated crescent rolls
1 lb. package smoked turkey lunch meat
8 slices cooked bacon
8 slices Swiss or Cheddar cheese
3 Roma tomatoes, sliced thin
4 eggs, beaten
2 tbsp. Jim’s Own Rub Mild or Smokey
Directions
Unroll the crescent dough and separate into 2 squares.
Place one square in bottom of 8″ pan that is greased or lined with parchment paper.
Press dough to fit pan.
Layer with half the turkey, bacon, cheese and tomatoes.
Mix beaten eggs and the Jim’s Own Rub and pour half the egg mixture over the top.
Repeat the layers.
Top with remaining dough square.
Pour remaining egg mixture over top.
Bake at 350 for 20 minutes, covered with foil. Remove foil and bake another 20-25 minutes.
Let it sit at room temp for 15-20 minutes before serving.
