Fried Shrimp and Fish Cakes
These little bites of deliciousness are easier to make than you think. You can use frozen white fish with your shrimp.
Ingredients
- 1/4 lb. shrimp, minced
- 1/4 lb. white fish, chopped
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 2 scallions (white and green parts), minced
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 4 tsp. Jim’s Own Sauce Mild
- Approx. 1/2 cup water
- Olive oil
Directions
Process or blend the shrimp and fish with the garlic, scallions, salt, flour, Jim’s Own Sauce Mild, and enough water to make a thick batter.
Let batter stand, covered with plastic film, for 1 hour.
Heat oil poured to a depth of 2 inches in a pan.
Drop heaped teaspoon dollops in the oil and fry for about 1 minute each side, or until golden brown.
Drain on paper towels.
Dipping sauce
Mix equal parts of Jim’s Own Mild Sauce with good quality soy sauce and you have a fabulous dipping sauce for your shrimp & fish cakes.
