Jim’s Own Sloppy Joes

Ingredients
1 tbsp vegetable oil.
1 small onion, chopped.
1/3 cup chopped green pepper.
1tbsp fresh crushed garlic.
1 pound lean ground beef.
1 cup Jim’s Own Sauce Mild, Hot or Smokey.
8 sandwich buns.
Directions
Heat oil in a large frying pan set over medium-high heat. Saute onions and green pepper for 5 minutes.
Add beef to the pan. Cook, stirring until browned, about 5 to 10 minutes. Drain off fat.
Stir in Jim’s Own Sauce. Simmer over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, for 10 minutes or until slightly thickened. Serve on sandwich buns.

Twist 1: For burger-appeal, jazz-up Sloppy Joes with additional toppings such as shredded lettuce, chopped tomato, grated cheese, sour cream or ranch dressing.
Twist 2: For a meat variation, use lean ground chicken or pork instead of beef.
Twist 3: For a veggie boosted Joe, stir in 1 cup each shredded carrot and chopped mushrooms.
Twist 4: For a high fiber alternative, try whole-wheat pitas or rolls instead of sandwich buns and add pinto beans.
Twist 5: For a chunkier Joe, use chopped tomatoes.
Twist 6: For a smokey-flavored Joe, use Jim’s Own Smokey
