Recipe Brisket
Jim’s Own BBQ Beef Brisket
There is a multitude of ways to prepare a brisket depending on your preferences i.e. oven cooking or smoking.
For this brisket, we chose to prepare it in the oven and wrapped in foil to keep it from drying out.
6-7 lb. Beef Brisket
2 tbsp. Jim’s Own Rub Mild
1 cup Jim’s Own Sauce Smokey
Directions
Place brisket in large piece of foil and rub with Jim’s Own Rub Mild. Add ½ cup of Jim’s Own Sauce Smokey and wrap foil securely around the brisket and place in a foil tray.
The right way to cook a brisket is low and slow which allows the relatively tough cut of meat to literally melt into tender and delicious morsels. Expect to cook a brisket anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours per pound depending on the temperature. When oven roasting a brisket, the temperature is typically set to 300 F for 30 to 45 minutes per pound.
So, for this 6 – 7lb brisket we will bake it at 300 F for 4 – 5 hours. You can check by pushing a fork in the meat if it goes in easy the meat is cooked. Allow to cool before slicing. Drizzle the other ½ cup of Jim’s Own Sauce Smokey over when serving the brisket.
