Recipe Bacon Cheese Burger

Bacon and Cheese stuffed Beef Burgers

We started out with an all-time favorite of our family – burgers with bacon and cheese and from this evolved some inside out thinking. We decided to stuff the cheese and bacon inside the burger. We made a simple creamy mushroom sauce to top the burger. The combination was delicious!

For 4 servings

Ingredients
8 thin beef burger patties
4 strips cooked bacon, crumbled
4 oz cheese, grated (We used aged cheddar.)
2 Tbsp Jim’s Own Rub Mild or Smokey
1 tsp vegetable oil
1 pack mushrooms, sliced
2 cloves garlic
1 Tbsp cream cheese

Directions
Use 1 beef patty as base and add about a teaspoon of crumbled bacon and a teaspoon of cheese to the middle of the patty.

Top with a second patty and squeeze the edges closed so none of the delicious gooey cheesy goodness can escape.

Next, add a thumbprint indentation to the middle of the burger as this prevents the burgers from shrinking to a ball and helps to keep them flat after cooked.

Dust generously with Jim’s Own Rub Mild or Smokey and grill until desired doneness.

Add the oil to the pan and fry the mushrooms and garlic until soft and cooked. The mushrooms will start releasing some juices as it cooks, then add the cream cheese and stir it through. As the cream cheese dissolves it will coat the mushrooms to make a delicious sauce you can spoon on your burgers.
